PAWS Memorial Services offers Private (Individual) and Communal (Group) cremations.

Our Athens, Alabama pet crematory is thoughtfully designed for the comfort of our clients in their time of grieving. We offer, by appointment, a private viewing area for those who wish to witness their pets cremation. This way you can be assured that you will receive only your pets cremated remains back. Our clients may either browse through our bereavement and grief management brochures while waiting for the cremation process to be completed or wait in our garden area located outside of the crematorium.

Private Cremation

Private cremation means that your pet is placed individually into the cremation chamber and is kept separate from all other pets. The cremated remains of your loving pet are then returned to you in a urn of your choosing.

Private cremation services can include the gentle pick up of your pet at your veterinary hospital or your home (charges apply), the Private (individual) cremation process, placing the cremated remains in an urn of your choosing and your pet can be then picked up at our facility. A certificate of cremation is issued with every Private Cremation.

Cremains are usually returned within 24-48 hours of pet pick up or drop off. We are also available after-hours or for emergency service if needed for an additional fee. Pet drop off to our facility is welcome by appointment.

* Complimentary use of our comfortable, spacious facility to say goodbye to your family friend.

We have implemented a state-of-the-art software system called Paws-i-Track which guarantees cremation integrity by ensuring the ashes you receive are the ashes of your pet. This tracking system will follow each pet from the time it's picked up and throughout the entire cremation process guaranteeing a private, dignified cremation, void of any doubt or uncertainty.

ALWAYS ask your crematory operator about their private cremation process. Many companies claim to offer private cremations, but will place several animals in the crematory only to be seperated by barriers. This DOES NOT guarantee a private cremation and WILL NOT prevent ashes from other pets from being mixed with your pets ashes despite their claims to the contrary.

* 100% disclosure. You are invited and welcome to remain on-site in our comfortable reception area. We have a view window into our entire operation. You may even personally "press the button" if you so choose to begin the cremation process. Many people request this and often helps with the closure process. We are the only facility in North Alabama offering these services.

* Your pet will be sheltered at our facility until the cremation process is completed by trained certified professionals.

* Timely service, often within 24 to 48 hours of taking your pet into our care.

* Return of your pet's ashes, carefully placed in a temporary container suitable for transport.

* At your request, a copy of all paperwork sent to your veterinarian to alert them of your loss and for veterinary records.

Communal Cremation
Communal cremation means that your pet is cremated in a group setting with other pets. The services can include the gentle pick up of your pet at your veterinary hospital or home (charges apply) and the cremation process. This option maintains a high level of dignity at a modest cost. Pet cremated remains are not returned if you choose this service. Non-returned cremains are scattered on our families farm we affectionately call "Peaceful Acres".

Service Dogs
As a token of our appreciation for their service, active, police and military K-9's receive private cremation service free of charge with proof of service.
